Sterling is a Missouri-born Mining Engineer, dedicated father, and longtime member of the South Pasadena community. He is the proud dad of two wonderful young children who attend South Pasadena schools and enjoys spending much of his free time with his family. When he’s not working or keeping up with the kids, Sterling can often be found tackling home improvement and repair projects—a pursuit he modestly describes as “basic,” though we suspect twelve years in the Oneonta Club has taught him never to oversell his abilities.
Sterling is also an active member of Oneonta Congregational Church and has been a member of the South Pasadena Oneonta Club for more than 12 years. His commitment to the Club has included five years of service on the Board, where he continues to contribute his time and energy to the organization and the friendships and community that make Oneonta special. We’re pleased to have Sterling serving as our host for this evening’s gathering.

Our evening’s entertainment will feature Nathaniel Segal, an award-winning Los Angeles-based magician known for his interactive sleight of hand, mind-reading, and original magic. A graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Theater, Nathaniel brings a unique blend of creativity, humor, and analytical thinking to his performances. He has appeared nationally on Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters of Illusion, and has performed at Hollywood’s legendary Magic Castle. Behind the scenes, Nathaniel has also worked as a magic consultant for David Blaine’s Las Vegas show and an America’s Got Talent semifinal performance. Whether performing close-up or on stage, his style centers on highly interactive magic designed to happen right in front of the audience.

Our very own Dylan and Charlie will be presenting “The Mystery of Oak Island,” one of the world’s longest-running and most intriguing treasure hunts. Located off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, Oak Island has drawn treasure seekers since 1795, when a mysterious buried site known as the “Money Pit” was discovered. For more than 230 years, people have searched for what might be hidden beneath the island—from pirate gold and Captain Kidd’s treasure to artifacts connected to the Knights Templar. Despite countless excavations, tunnels, discoveries, and millions of dollars spent, no definitive treasure has ever been found. The mystery continues today and has become internationally famous through the History Channel series The Curse of Oak Island.
