Oneonta goes Oktoberfest this October, with German food, beer, music, fellowship—and a fascinating story of craftsmanship and building a life in America. Our featured speaker will be Georg Eittinger, Master Violin Maker and proprietor of Hans Weisshaar Violin Makers & Restorers, whose journey began in Germany and ultimately brought him to Southern California. Georg will share “Out of Ingolstadt: Journeyman, Master & Building a Life in America,” tracing a path through apprenticeship, mastery of an extraordinary craft, and the creation of a successful career and family life here. Add a few Oktoberfest surprises and plenty of Gemütlichkeit, and it should be a memorable Oneonta evening.
